Former Red Bull Formula One (F1) driver Mark Webber had a horrific crash in Brazil during a World Endurance Championship race. Since then he has taken to his website and Twitter to socially share he is ‘pretty bruised’ with a bad headache but ok.
Webber spent a night in hospital after his crash during the Six Hours of Sao Paulo event, which occurred yesterday (Sunday). Webber said he didn’t have any recollection of the accident or how it happened but the team is working on it.
Luckily Webber is ok and not seriously hurt, he even took to his Twitter account to say, “Yesterday I was a lucky boy. The correct angle of impact saved me. Thanks everybody for your incredible messages and support. #recovering.”
The crash happened between Webber’s car and Italy’s Matteo Cressoni Ferrari. Webber is a fighter and a champion; he won nine grand prix championships in his 12 year F1 career. McLaren F1 driver Jenson Button tweeted, “Glad to see @AussieGrit is ok after his shunt at Interlagos @fiawec, that was a big one matey.”
